Harry Faulkner of True North covered our work at SaveFreeSpeech.ca on his show Ratio’d last Thursday.
One of our most important resources on our site is our page that breaks down Bill C-63 into simple easy to understand chunks. Check it out here -> SaveFreeSpeech.ca/C63
Instead of giving this legislation the benefit of the doubt like many politicians, commentators and news personalities in Canada we give the worst possible interpretation when analyzing Bill C-63 aka ‘The Online Harms Act’.
Why did we take this approach?
We saw crown prosecutors throw the book at activists and political dissidents across the country following COVID Lockdowns and the Trucker Freedom Convoy in 2022. Blue collar workers were beaten in the street, peaceful protesters were trampled by horses, Pastors were charged for delivering sermons and much more. We know that a tyrannical attitude is evident within our government so we just applied it to Bill C-63.
The page outlines the lowest possible threshold a Canadian citizen would need to reach through their speech in order to be censored online, fined, put on house arrest, or thrown in jail. Basically if you “intensely dislike” someone or some group the wrong way you could wind up in prison under Bill C-63 legislation.
We’re encouraged that True North amplified this interpretation of Bill C-63 as more Canadians must understand what is at stake with this Bill. Objectively poor legislation has already been passed in Canada by this government like Bill C-18 and Bill C-11 that negatively affects our freedoms online.
If Bill C-63 passes if WILL be the end of Free Speech in Canada.
We’re here to PUSH BACK against this bill and to raise the alarm bells across the country and beyond. Being featured on True North is just the beginning.
